What Makes Diamond Series Different

Nano Smooth Coat detail

Nano Smooth Coat

Multi-layer coating applied in controlled-environment lines. Anti-corrosion base layer → chemical bonding mid-layer → low-friction top coat. Manufacturer internal testing shows lower surface friction compared to uncoated hooks of the same wire gauge. All layers REACH compliant for EU import.

  • Three-layer structure: corrosion barrier, bond coat, friction top coat
  • Maintains point sharpness through repeated strikes against hard mouth structure
  • Available in Black Nickel, 24K Gold, Bright Tin, Nickel
Cutting Point geometry

Cutting Point Geometry

Three-facet ground point — two angled cuts create a triangular cross-section that cuts rather than pushes through tissue. Chemically sharpened after grinding to remove micro-burrs. Visual inspection under 10× magnification per production batch.

  • Three-facet grind — cuts on contact, does not wedge
  • Chemical sharpening removes grinding burrs
  • Batch sampled under 10× magnification

HI-TECH Chemical Coated — Salt Spray Performance

ASTM B117 salt spray testing exposes coated hooks to continuous 5% NaCl fog at 35°C. HI-TECH Chemical Coated hooks exceed 500 hours before first red rust appears — verified on production samples from each batch. The coating bonds at a molecular level; resistant to chipping and flaking during rigging or repeated casting.

  • ASTM B117: 500+ hours to first red rust
  • Molecular-level bonding — resistant to chipping
  • REACH compliant, batch traceable from raw material

FAQ

Common Questions

What is the difference between Nano Smooth Coat and HI-TECH Chemical Coated?

Nano Smooth Coat is a multi-layer top coating that reduces surface friction on the hook shank and point. HI-TECH Chemical Coated is the corrosion-resistant base coating applied to all Diamond Series hooks by default. They work together — HI-TECH provides corrosion protection, Nano Smooth Coat provides the low-friction surface.

Which hook sizes are available for Diamond Series?

Size range #14 to 5/0 depending on model. Model 2501 (treble): #6–#1/0. Model 2537 (chinu ring): #8–#2. Model 2502 (wacky worm): #4–#1. Custom sizes available with MOQ of 2,000 pieces.

Can Diamond Series hooks be used in saltwater?

Yes, when ordered with HI-TECH Chemical Coated finish (500h+ ASTM B117 rating). For maximum saltwater life, request HI-TECH Chemical Coated as the base coating — this is included as standard on the Diamond Series. Bright Tin is not recommended for prolonged saltwater use.

What hook point type does this series use?

Cutting Point — a three-facet ground point with triangular cross-section. Chemically sharpened after grinding. Cutting Point is effective on hard-mouthed species (carp, pike, zander) where a needle point would require more force to set. For softer-mouthed species or finesse presentations, ask about our needle point options.
